Stony Brook Athletics to Offer Free Women's Basketball Tickets to Mammogram Patients

Stony Brook University's Department of Athletics and Medical Center are coming together to offer all patients who receive a mammogram during the month of February a free ticket to the women's basketball Pink Zone game on February 27. The WBCA Pink Zone initiative began in 2007 as a global, unified effort for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The 2009 Pink Zone campaign raised more than $1.3 million, reached over 912,000 fans and unified more than 1,600 participating teams and organizations. [+]

Men's and Women's Tennis Cruise To Victories Over Fairfield

Stony Brook University's men's and women's tennis teams each picked up their first victory of the spring season on Saturday night at the Stamford Indoor Tennis Center with dominating victories over the Fairfield Stags. The women did not drop a set on their way to a 7-0 win, while the men cruised to a 6-1 victory in their first match of the spring season. [+]

Men's and Women's Track Impressive on Day Two of Giegengack Invitational

Senior Alex Felce (Stroud, England) set a school record in the mile and junior Kristal Conklin (Middletown, N.Y.) finished second in the 1,000m to lead Stony Brook's track teams on day two of the Giegengack Invitational hosted by Yale University. The men's and women's squad combined to post five top-10 finishes on Saturday. [+]

Swimming and Diving Falls At Binghamton

W. Swimming

Stony Brook's swimming and diving teams were swept by Binghamton on Saturday afternoon. The men's team fell, 162-113, and the women's team lost, 199-101. Sophomore Sean Conway (Oakdale, N.Y.) had three first-place finishes for the men's team. Freshman Julie Policht (Toronto, Ontario) recorded a pair of second-place times for the women's team. [+]
