Fleury, Struzenberg Named to NFCA Northeast All-Region Second Team

Softball

Junior Marissa Fleury (Mahopac, N.Y.) and sophomore Alyssa Struzenberg (Cooper City, Fla.) have both been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Northeast All-Region Second Team, according to a release from the organization Wednesday. Fleury and Struzenberg join five other America East Conference players on the second team. [+]

Stony Brook Athletics Holds Annual Athletics Banquet

Stony Brook University's Department of Athletics held its annual Awards Banquet tonight at the Student Activities Center on campus. During the evening's program a number of awards were handed out, including the Male and Female Athletes of the Year to sophomore Alex Felce (Stroud, England), a member of the cross country and track teams, and sophomore Alyssa Struzenberg (Cooper City, Fla.) of the softball team. Baseball Scores Two In Ninth To Edge Seton Hall, 8-7

Baseball

Freshman Robert Inzerillo (Valley Stream, N.Y.) scored the winning run on a wild pitch with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to lead the Stony Brook University baseball team to an 8-7 victory over the Seton Hall Pirates in non-conference action at University Field on Tuesday afternoon. Stony Brook improves to 30-21 with the victory while the Pirates fall to 29-21. [+]

Five Stony Brook University student-athletes were honored when the State University of New York announced its 2007-08 Chancellor's Scholar-Athlete Awards which recognizes a combination of academic excellence and outstanding athletic achievement. Freshman Artem Baradach (Minsk, Belarus), sophomore Alex Felce (Stroud, England), senior Dana Hastie (Wellington, New Zealand), junior Kaitlin Leggio (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and sophomore Michael Stephan (Patchogue-Medford, N.Y.) were the Stony Brook honorees.
