Stephanie Poetzsch, an assistant softball coach since 2003, was named facility assistant at Stony Brook in August of 2003.

Poetzsch is responsible for student employment for athletics, facilities and special events while managing the facilities budget and serving as an administrative assistant for facilities.

Poetzsch graduated from Stony Brook in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in women's studies. After transferring from the University of Rhode Island following her freshman year, Poetzsch spent three seasons with the Stony Brook softball team, becoming the program's all-time wins and strikeouts leader. She still holds several single-season records as well.

Poetzsch received All-America East accolades in 2002 and team MVP honors as a junior and senior. She was also named Stony Brook's Female Athlete of the Year after her junior season in 2001.
