The Stony Brook Seawolves invade Shuart Stadium on the campus of Hofstra University (Hempstead, NY) for a Long Island showdown! Seats are limited so purchase your tickets early by calling 631-632-WOLF or you can call Hofstra directly (516-463-8499) and ask to reserve a seat in the Seawolves section. 2009 Football Home Opener

All students in attendance can take part in the Student Activities Opening Weekend BBQ at LaValle Stadium. Come and enjoy good food, great carnival games and amazing giveaways while cheering on your favorite Seawolves!

Long Island High School Night

The Stony Brook Football Team is inviting all Long Island High Schools to come out to Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium and cheer on your Seawolves as they take on Brown in Seawolves Country! Since all Long Island High School Football programs do not play this particular weekend, Stony Brook Athletics will have a special presentation in appreciation for all of the support from these local programs.

Sunrise Fund Night

Stony Brook University Athletics will be adding a $2 donation to the price of every admission ticket for the Seawolves home opening game to the Sunrise Fund. The Sunrise Fund at Stony Brook was established to raise awareness about childhood cancer and to raise funds for specific projects including a respite center, a playroom, extended support services, facilities and programs that meet our families growing needs, and vital research into the causes and treatment of childhood cancers.

Stony Brook University Band Day

Stony Brook University will be hosting the inaugural Band Day at LaValle Stadium. Bands from around Long Island and the tri-state will gather at Stony Brook to partake in a day filled with musical activities including performing with the Spirit of Stony Brook, the Seawolves Marching Band during the 2009 Football Season home opener!

Homecoming  - Wolfstock

Stony Brook University will host Wolfstock 2009 - an annual Homecoming celebration and alumni reunion - as your Seawolves football team will battle Presbyterian in LaValle Stadium. Wolfstock 2009 will include activities designed for alumni, students, faculty, staff, and their families, as well as for the extended Stony Brook family of community members, neighbors and civic organizations.

8th Annual Raymond M. Downey Heroes Classic

For this special event all firefighters, policemen, military, and emergency services personnel with valid ID can buy a ticket for admission and receive a second ticket FREE; as Stony Brook honors the heroes in our community.

On this day, the Seawolves will honor the memory of Deputy Chief Raymond Downey who had died in the line of duty during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.  All fire departments in attendance are encouraged to display one piece of apparatus at the main entrance to LaValle stadium. Trophies will be awarded at halftime for the following categories:  In-Service Apparatus, Antique Apparatus and to the department who travels the furthest distance to participate in the celebration.  All apparatus drivers will each receive a Stony Brook t-shirt.  Contest rules and parking instructions will be forwarded to those wishing to participate. Parent and Family Weekend

Parents and family members of Stony Brook students are invited to LaValle stadium as a part of their weekend visit to campus. All who have signed up for this weekend will receive free admittance to the Seawolves football game as they host Coastal Carolina in Big South action!

Off-campus students will receive two free tickets to LaValle Stadium for the Seawolves football game, courtesy of the Commuter Student Services department.
