Men's Track and Field Place High In Field Events At Terrier Invitational

Boston, Mass. - Stony Brook's men's track and field team placed within the top-ten in three different field events at the Terrier Invitational at Boston University on Saturday. Senior Justin Miller (Smithtown, N.Y.) placed ninth in the shot put (13.82) and tenth in the weight throw (14.90). Both of those distances are team-highs for the Seawolves this season. Fellow senior Mubaarak Muhammad (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) posted the highest finish for Stony Brook, finishing fourth in the triple jump (13.97). This is the third time Muhammad has finished within the top-five of the triple jump this season. Junior Merlon Pinnock (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) qualified for the METS Championships with a season-best performance in the 400-meter, senior Melvin Genao (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) qualified for the METS in the 500-meter and sophomore Daire Bermingham (Portmarnock, Ireland) also qualified for the METS in the mile. Sophomore Tim Hodge (Tawa, New Zealand) was the eighth collegiate athlete overall in the 3,000-meter, posting an IC4A qualifying time of 8:25.47. The Stony Brook track and field team's next meet is the METS Championships on February 1st in New York, N.Y. starting at 2 p.m.
