Stony Brook Men's Track and Field Compete at Valentine Invitational

Boston, Mass. - Stony Brook's men's track and field team set a number of personal season-bests today at the Valentine Invitational at Boston University, including another new school-record in the triple jump by senior Mubaarak Muhammad (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.). Muhammad, who broke the Stony Brook record in the triple jump last weekend, broke it again Saturday with a distance of 14.35 meters, good enough for sixth overall. Senior Melvin Genao (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) finished 19th in the 500-meter and set a new season-best time for the Seawolves (1:05.81). Sophomore Tim Hodge (Tawa, New Zealand) also ran a season-best time for the Seawolves in the mile, finishing 16th overall with a time of 4:12.41. Senior Justin Miller (Smithtown, N.Y.) held his own in the shot put placing 18th with a distance of 14.66 meters. Sophomore Daire Bermingham (Portmarnock, Ireland) posted an IC4A qualifying time of 4:13.07 in the mile, which was good enough for 21st overall. Stony Brook's track and field team will take a week off before competing in the America East Championships on February 22nd in Boston, Mass.
