Boston, Mass. - Jenny Payne qualified for the ECAC Championships this weekend with her performance at the Valentine Invitational at Boston University. Payne finished third in the 5000m with a time of 17:28.80, a time that shattered the indoor school record by 1:28.48 and the outdoor school record by six seconds. Payne's time also improved her personal-best by 27 seconds. She will compete at both the indoor and outdoor ECAC Championships. The men's team also had several outstanding performances. Jonathan Brims ran the mile in 4:14.99, missing the IC4A Championships qualifying time by just .99 of a second. Mike Thompson, the school-record holder in the 1000m, improved the record with a time of 2:30.50, missing the IC4A qualifying time by half a second. Chris Hunt recorded his best time of the season, 1:05.87, in the 500m, .67 of a second short of qualifying for IC4As.
