West Point, N.Y. - Jenny Payne and Craig Matuza led the Stony Brook track and field team at the West Point Invitational yesterday.

Payne finished second in the 3000m in a time of 10:08.60 and Matuza took second place in the shot put with a throw of 15.28m.

Other top performers were Dana Shepherd in the 100m, who finished sixth with a time of 12.76, and the women's 4x100m team of Shepherd, Nicola Baker, Tamieka Henry and Farah Belizario. The team took a fifth-place finish in a time of 51.1.

In addition, season-best performances were recorded by Nicola Baker in the 400m, Dave DeWolfe and Mike Thompson in the 1500m, Chris Hunt and Jackie Berman in the 800m and Patty Gregory in the 3000m.

The Seawolves will next be in action at the Southern Connecticut Invitational on Saturday, April 7th.
