Bronx, N.Y. - The men's and women's cross country team opened its season at the Fordham Invitational on Saturday. It was the first meet under new head coach Andy Ronan.

Junior Jenny Payne recorded the best finish for both the men and women, placing 14th in the 5K with a time of 19:49. As a team, the women were 12th out of 15 teams.

On the men's side, senior Mike Thompson was the best performer, as his time of 28:43 was good for 47th place. Stony Brook finished 11th out of 12 teams.
