Terre Haute, Ind. - Sophomore Jessica Hampson (Smithtown, N.Y.) finished 43rd out of 235 runners to lead the Stony Brook women's cross country team to a 14th place finish in the White Race at the 2007 Pre-Nationals Meet hosted by Indiana State on Saturday afternoon.

Hampson finished the 6K race in 21:07.9, just over 20 second behind the winner. Freshmen Lucy Van Dalen (Wanganui, New Zealand) and Holly Van Dalen (Wanganui, New Zealand) placed 76th (21:31) and 78th (32:32), respectively, for the Seawolves.

Sophomore Laura Huet (Carrickmines, Ireland) placed 91st with a time of 21:42, with senior Dana Hastie (Wellington, New Zealand) coming in close behind in 95th (21:43).

Stony Brook will return to action next weekend for the Central Connecticut Mini-Meet followed by the 2007 America East Championships which the Seawolves will host.
