Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook cross country team concluded its 2001 campaign at the IC4A and ECAC Championships on Saturday.

Overall the men's team finished 10th out of 23 teams while the women were seventh out of 20, a huge jump from last year when the men had an incomplete score and the women finished in the 17th spot.

David deWolfe led the men's team, finishing 15th overall with a time of 26:18.80 in the 8000m. Mike Thompson was the next Seawolves finisher, coming in 36th with a time of 26:37.80. Dale Summerville had his best performance this year, running the course in 26:51.10 for 46th place.

Jenny Payne led the women's team with a ninth-place finish, running the 5000m in 18:42.00. Behind her were Laura Hixson and Jackie Berman posting personal-best times this season, Hixson with a time of 19:70.70 and Berman, 19:26.70.
