Bronx, N.Y. - Junior Lucy van Dalen (Wanganui, New Zealand) won the individual championship and the women's cross country team placed third at the ECAC Championship in Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday afternoon. Van Dalen is the first Stony Brook runner to win the ECAC individual title since Leonora Joy '06 did it in 2002. As a team, the women finished third with James Madison. It was the final race of the season for the Seawolves, who won their third straight America East Championship in October. Van Dalen finished the 5K course in 17:03.3 followed by her sister, junior Holly Van Dalen (Wanganui, New Zealand), who placed second with a time of 17:05.6.
