Morgantown, W.Va. - Stony Brook's bats came alive with 12 hits and starting pitcher Jon Lewis shut down the Moutaineers in the second game of a double header on Saturday afternoon at Hawley Field in Morgantown, W.Va., as the Seawolves defeated West Virginia, 10-2, in Game 2, after falling 6-0 in the first game of the day. With the split, Stony Brook stands at 6-6 on the season.

Stony Brook took a 1-0 advantage in the first inning and extended its lead to 10-1 with five runs in the fourth inning and a pair of runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to put the second game of the day out of reach.

The ten runs were more than Lewis would need as he scattered seven hits over seven innnings of work, striking out nine Mountaineer batters along the way, to pick up the complete game victory and improve to 2-1 on the season.

Dave Mischo led the Seawolves at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored, while Kevin Solano went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored and Nick Theoharis went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

West Virginia snapped the Seawolves four-game winning streak with a 6-0 win in the first game of the double header. Zao Cline threw a complete game three-hitter for the Mountaineers, striking out five. Paul Carufe (1-1) suffered the loss for Stony Brook.

The Seawolves will conclude the three-game series with West Virginia tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m.
