Baseball Knocks Off Rider 6-2 Behind Szwejkowski's Strong Pitching
March 16, 2003 Homestead, Fla. - Jamie Szwejkowski hurled 8 1/3 innings and gave up two runs and Andrew Larsen rapped out two hits in a Stony Brook five-run third inning to propel the Seawolves to a 6-2 win over Rider Sunday afternoon in Homestead, Florida. The win was the second straight for Stony Brook and improved the season record to 3-2. Larsen had a pair of hits, stole two bases and scored two runs in the decisive five-run third for Stony Brook. Rich Graham also had a good day at the plate, going 2-5 with two runs batted in. Szwejkowski was the story on the mound for SB, going 8 1/3 innings and giving up only two runs while striking out two to earn his second win of the year. Stony Brook is back in action on Monday when it faces Kansas State at noon and Florida International at 7 p.m. |
