Baseball Loses Fourth Straight 9-7

March 22, 2003

Box Score

Homestead, Fla. - The Seawolves' late-inning rally came up just short as they fell to Wisconsin-Milwaukee by the score of 9-7 on Friday afternoon. It was the second straight loss to the Panthers and fourth straight overall as Stony Brook slipped to 4-7 on the season.

The Panthers built on 9-0 lead thanks in part to five errors committed by the Stony Brook defense. A two-run homer by Lee Lipshutz in the bottom of the eighth inning got the Seawolves on the board and a few batters later Jimmy McCurdy drove in a run to slice the deficit to 9-3.

Stony Brook rallied for four more runs in the ninth but could get no closer.

The Seawolves wrap up the Florida trip Saturday morning when they take on St. Peter's. First pitch is 10:30 p.m.
