Senk Records 300th Career Win In 19-8 Rout Of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
March 22, 2003 Homestead, Fla. - Head coach Matt Senk collected his 300th career win as the Stony Brook baseball team rolled to a 19-8 win over Wisconsin-Milwaukee Saturday morning in Homestead, Florida. The win snapped a four-game losing skid and sent Stony Brook back up north with a 5-7 record. The Seawolves jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning but quickly broke the game open in the second, scoring eight times in the inning to extend the lead to 11-0. Jimmy McCurdy got things started with a two-run double that was followed by a Matt Devins single that also brought home two more runs. Devins went 3-for-4 at the plate, belted a homer and drove in four runs to help Stony Brook snap a four-game losing skid. McCurdy and Rich Graham finished with two hits. Will Brumfield moved to 3-0 on the year, pitching 4 1/3 innings while striking out two. Matt Restivo earned his first save of the season. One of the winningest coaches in Stony Brook history, Senk has compiled a 300-166-3 (.642) record in just over 12 seasons at the Brook and his team has made eight postseason appearances during his tenure. |
