HOMESTEAD, FLA - The University at Stony Brook baseball team split a pair of games on Monday, falling to Northwestern, 11-4, but rebounding to upend Northeastern, 16-10, in the final game of the day.

The baseball team had its win streak snapped at seven when Northwestern overcame a 4-3 deficit in the eighth inning, exploding for six runs en route to an 11-4 win.

CJ Lutz was again outstanding at the plate, belting a homer a driving in three runs and Craig Ansman went 3-4 against the Wildcats.

In the nightcap, the Seawolves got back on the winning track, posting a 16-10 victory against Northeastern. Chris Manna was the story for Stony Brook. The senior outfielder went 5-6 at the plate, driving in four runs and scoring two. Ed Murillo chipped in with three hits and two runs scored. Lee Reynolds came on in relief and earned the win as Stony Brook improved to 8-1 on the season.

The Seawolves are off on Tuesday and will return to action on Wednesday against Northeastern.
