Seniors Gregg Foster and CJ Lutz each clubbed two homeruns, part of a seven-homerun performance as Stony Brook defeated Quinnipiac Wednesday afternoon, 18-9. It was the fifth win in six games for Stony Brook, which improved to 13-3. Quinnipiac falls to 3-7.

Ed Murrillo's three-run homerun to left field in the second inning began the homerun barage and gave the Seawolves an early 3-0 advantage. Quinnipiac took the lead back at 4-3 with a pair of runs in the third and fourth innings. Nate Noyes' double in the third scored Tim Mangano and Rob Garrett and Charles D'Elia's double to right field in the fourth scored John Stadalnik and Joe Boccaccio.

However, the Seawolves erupted for seven runs in both the fourth and fifth innings. In the fourth, Gregg Foster hit a grand slam to left field. Foster finished the day 2-for-5 from the plate with a career-high six RBI's. After a Phil Bouchard double to center field, CJ Lutz hit the first of two homeruns on the day. The homeruns were Lutz's sixth and seventh of the season. He finished the day 2-for-5 from the plate with four RBI's and two runs scored. Craig Ansman followed Lutz with a solo shot to stake the Seawolves to a 10-4 lead.

In the fifth, Foster hit a two-run homerun and Lutz followed Phil Bouchard's double with a two-run homerun. Alex Trezza got into the act as well with a two-run shot to right field that gave the Seawolves a 17-6 advantage.

The Braves (3-7) used six pitchers in the game as Pat Lynch was tagged with the loss. Noyes and D'Elia each had three RBI's on the day.
