OLD WESTBURY, NY - Stony Brook clobbered five homeruns and jumped out to a 12-0 lead after 3 1/2 innings of play on its way to a 12-3 victory over New York Tech in game one of a doubleheader Sunday afternoon. In game two, Tech struck back, taking a 6-0 lead after two innings on its way to a 9-1 win. Stony Brook won two of the three games between the teams in the weekend series.

Ed Murillo's two-run homerun in the third gave the Seawolves a 4-0 advantage. It was Murillo's second homerun in as many games. In the fourth inning, Matt Salmon and CJ Lutz hit back-to-back homeruns to stake the Seawolves to the 12-0 lead. Lutz and Salmon each had a pair of RBI in the game.

Chris Tuthill (2-1) went seven innings on the mound, giving up three runs on five hits while striking out three.

In game two, the Bears got to starting pitcher Mike Kinney (3-2) for six runs in 1 1/3 innings en route to a 9-1 win. Kinney walked four while all six runs came earned in the loss. CJ Lutz provided Stony Brook with its only offense - a solo homerun in the sixth inning. It is the 12th straight gme in which the Seawolves have homered but was the lowest offensive output of the season. Matt Salmon extended his hitting streak to 12 games in the loss.

The Seawoles begin a busy week at St. Peter's on Tuesday at 3:30.
