HAMDEN, CT -
Lee Lipschutz went 5-for-6 from the plate, collecting seven RBI as Stony Brook (20-5) posted a come-from-behind victory over Quinnipiac Thursday afternoon, 27-20.
It was the seventh straight victory for the Seawolves and the second over the Braves (11-11) this season.
Stony Brook took a 7-3 advantage in the third inning keyed by Lipschutz's three-run double. However, Quinnipiac answered in the bottom of the inning with 10 runs to lead, 13-7. Phil Bouchard's single in the fifth inning scored Alex Trezza from third, capping off a six-run comeback to give the Seawolves the lead for good at 14-13.
Matt Salmon's grand slam in the sixth inning gave Stony Brook a 21-13 lead - part of a 4-for-6 day for Salmon. He upped his average to a team-leading .436 on the season and is riding a 10-game hitting streak.
Craig Ansman, Alex Trezza and Phil Bouchard all added homeruns in the win.
Eric Lomot (1-0) earned his first victory of the season, coming in relief. Lomot went 3 1/3, allowing seven runs on five hits.
Gregg Foster extended his hitting streak to 17 games, going 1-for-6 with one RBI.
