Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook University sophomore designated hitter Mike Stephan (Patchogue, N.Y.) was named to the District I CoSida/ESPN the Magazine All-Academic second team the organizations announced on Thursday.

Stephan enters the weekend hitting .328 with a team-high nine home runs, 27 RBI and 38 runs scored. He also ranks fifth in the nation in on-base percentage (.538) and second in hit by pitch (23). To be nominated student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for his career.
