Stony Brook, N.J. - Former Seawolf Dan Flores has signed a professional football contract with the New Jersey Gladiators of the Arena Football League. The Gladiators are the second professional indoor team that Flores has played for, he was a member of the Flint Flames of the Indoor Football League last spring.

Flores played four seasons at Stony Brook from 1995-99, sitting out one season with a leg injury. The 6-4, 260-pound tight end caught 51 passes for 411 yards and two touchdowns during his four-year stint at SB. The Gladiators plan to use Flores as a fullback and a linebacker.

"I am real happy for Danny," head coach Sam Kornhauser said. "He has always wanted to play in the NFL and this gets him a little closer to his dream."
