Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook head football coach Sam Kornhauser announced that he has named Corey Holland as Stony Brook's new offensive line coach. He assumes the position that was vacated by Andrew Dees who left Stony Brook to assume a similar position at the University of Buffalo.

Holland comes to Stony Brook after one year as an assistant football coach at Salisbury State University in Salisbury, Md. At Salisbury State, he was responsible for recruiting and all aspects of game plan preparation.

"We are excited to have Corey as a part of our staff," Kornhauser said. "He was very successful as a player and he brings that experience to our football program."

Holland, who is a 2000 graduate of Hofstra University , was a three-year starter for the Pride and a member of the team that captured the 1999 Lambert Cup trophy. He earned All-Independent Honorable Mention honors in 1998 and was an All-Independent Second-Team selection in 1999. He garnered Most Improved Player honors following the 1999 season. He earned his bachelor of arts degree in psychology.

Holland, a native of Ocean City, Md., transferred to Hofstra after one year at Delaware State University where he excelled in both football and baseball. As a freshman, he was an All-Conference pick in both sports.
