Josh Dudash Named NEC Offensive Player Of The Week

Nov. 7, 2005

Stony Brook quarterback Josh Dudash was named Northeast Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, the NEC announced. Dudash tossed four touchdown passes to lead Stony Brook to a 28-10 win over Wagner on Saturday, positioning the Seawolves to play for a share of the NEC title this weekend.

Dudash completed 15-of-25 passes for 187 yards and four touchdowns at home versus the Seahawks. In his last two games, the Beachwood, N.J. product has thrown for nine touchdowns. This season, Dudash has completed 56.2 percent of his pass attempts for 1,700 yards and 15 touchdowns and has guided the Seawolves resurgence towards the top of the NEC standings.

The win also jumped Stony Brook to No. 9 in The Sports Network Mid-Major Poll, setting up a showdown with No. 4 and first-place Central Connecticut (7-3, 5-1). Should Stony Brook defeat the Blue Devils, it will grab a share of the conference championship for the first time since joining the NEC in 1999.

Stony Brook hosts Central Connecticut on Saturday in Sam Kornhauser's final home game after 22 seasons as head coach. Kick-off is 1 p.m.
