Pair of Stony Brook Football Players Will Play in East Coast Bowl
Nov. 28, 2008
Stony Brook, N.Y. - A pair of Stony Brook football players will be suiting up for one more game this season. Seniors Lawrence Lovell (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Adam Soivilien (Dorchester, Mass.) will be playing in the East Coast Bowl in Petersburg, Virginia on Saturday. The pair will be members of the North squad in the eighth annual game that will be played at Cameron Field in Petersburg on Saturday beginning at Noon. Lovell has started every game at left tackle for the past three years for Stony Brook and was one of the team's co-captains in 2008. A second team All-Big South selection, Lovell was part of an offensive line that blocked for two 1,000-yard running backs for the first time in school history in 2008. Stony Brook's rushing offense currently ranks ninth in the nation while the line allowed just 1.5 sacks per game to rank among the top-40 in the nation for a second straight year. Another of the team's co-captains, Soivilien led the Seawolves' defensive linemen for a second straight season in tackles, finishing with 50 while forcing a fumble and breaking up a pass attempt. The East Coast Bowl is an annual college football All-Star game that features Division I-FCS, II, III and NAIA college football players from across the Mid-Atlantic region. The game is held every year on the Saturday following Thanksgiving at Cameron Field in Petersburg, Virginia and is sponsored by the City of Petersburg and the National Football Foundation.
