Stony Brook University Installs New FieldTurf Playing Surface

Stony Brook University Athletics recently completed the installation of a new FieldTurf surface in Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium, replacing the original Field Turf which was installed when the facility opened in 2002. The new, 89,298 square foot surface was provided by Field Turf Tarkett and installed by the Land Tek Group Inc. [+]

06/22/2009 Jim DiPietro '76 Helps Raise More than $60,000 for Stony Brook Football Jim DiPietro '76, in conjuction with Stony Brook University's Department of Athletics, raised more than $60,000 for the Seawolves football program this weekend at a fundraiser cocktail party held at DiPietro's home in Garden City, N.Y. More than 130 alumni and friends were in attendance including DiPietro's former teammates Rob Brodsky '76 and Bob Carley '77 along with Stu Sharoff '81, Kurt Ludwig '85, Mike Sherman '88, Tony Thompson '97, Greg Monfiletto '98 and Lawrence Lovell `09. Stony Brook also honored DiPietro--Stony Brook's first All-American running back--with a trophy in recognition of his accomplishments. [+]
