Stony Brook, N.Y. - Jay Jalbert scored four goals and Drew McKnight added three goals and three assists to lead No. 2 Virginia to a 19-5 win over Stony Brook at Seawolves Field Saturday afternoon. After an early goal by Tristram Gillen gave the Seawolves an early 1-0 lead, the second-ranked Cavaliers took control by scoring 14 unanswered goals. The Seawolves did not score again until 6:44 remained in third quarter on a goal by Kevin Pall, a scoreless drought of more than 35 minutes.

Virginia had 12 different players score in the game. A.J. Shannon and Ian Shure each scored two goals and Conor Gill chipped in with a goal and two assists to help the balanced Cavalier attack. Leading the way for the Seawolves was Pall, who registered his first career hat trick. Gillen added two goals and Jesse Foss had two assists for SB.

The meeting with second-ranked Virginia was the highest ranked opponent Stony Brook has ever faced. With the loss, Stony Brook falls to 0-4 on the year.
