Stony Brook, N.Y. - Ben Haaz and Kevin Bromby scored fourth quarter goals to snap a 5-5 tie and Lafayette held off a late Stony Brook rally to post a 7-6 win at Seawolves Field on Wednesday afternoon. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for Lafayette as it improved to 2-4 on the year while the loss dropped Stony Brook's record to 0-6. With the scored tied 3-3 at halftime, the Leopards broke the deadlock on a rare goal by their goaltender Duncan Woodard. Woodard scooped up the ball in his own end and raced the length of the field, whipping a shot past Stony Brook's John Dobias to give Lafayette a 4-3 edge. Ted Blackburn extended Lafayette's lead to 5-3 before Nick Ceballos and Kevin Pall scored for the Seawolves to send the game into the fourth quarter tied at five. Haaz and Bromby tallied for Lafayette to put the Leopards up 7-5 with 8:52 remaining but Stony Brook answered five minutes later when Phil Archabald notched his second tally of the game to cut the lead to 7-6. However, the Seawolves were unable to get the equalizer down the stretch and remain winless on the year. Dobias was outstanding in goal for Stony Brook, making 20 saves on the afternoon. Woodard made 10 stops for Lafayette.
