No. 6 Georgetown Upends Men's Lacrosse, 19-6
D'Orazio notches 100th career point in loss
April 8, 2000 Stony Brook, N.Y. - Scott Urick and Andy Flick each scored four goals to lead No. 6 Georgetown to a 19-6 win over Stony Brook in ECAC Lacrosse League action at Seawolves Field Saturday afternoon. Eleven different Hoyas found the net on the afternoon as the 19-goal outburst was the most goals that Georgetown has scored against any opponent so far this season. The fifth-ranked offense in the nation got it going in the first quarter, jumping out to a 3-0 lead before goals by Dominic D'Orazio and Kevin Pall trimmed the lead to 3-2. Georgetown then scored 12 of the next 14 goals to take control of the game and cruise to victory. Urick finished the day with five points, adding an assist to his four goals. Pall lead the Seawolves with three goals, marking the seventh straight game that the sophomore attackman has tallied more than once in a game. Dominic D'Orazio added two goals for Stony Brook, reaching a personal milestone in the process. D'Orazio's first goal of the game gave him 100 points for his career, making him only the 12th player in the program's history to do so. John Dobias stopped 15 shots for Stony Brook which fell to 2-7 overall, 0-3 in conference play while the win improves Georgetown's record to 8-1 on the year and a perfect 4-0 in the conference. The Seawolves are in action again on Tuesday evening when they travel to Rutgers for an ECAC Lacrosse League matchup. Face-off is 7:30 p.m. |
