Lacrosse Spoils Quinnipiac's Unbeaten Season With 14-7 Win

Hamden, Conn. - Kevin Pall scored a school-record eight goals, six in the first half, as Stony Brook defeated Quinnipiac 14-7 on Saturday afternoon. The loss was Quinnipiac's first this season, as the Braves fall to 12-1, while Stony Brook improved to 5-6. The Seawolves jumped out to a 5-0 lead eight minutes into the contest as Pall tallied three goals. Quinnipiac finally got on the board with 5:21 remaining in the first quarter when Joe Baglio registered an unassisted goal. In the second quarter, the Seawolves extended their lead to 8-1 before settling on a 10-3 halftime advantage. In the third, the Braves cut the lead to 11-6 with a goal by Alan LoGuidice at the 3:48 mark. However, Pall responded with a goal off an assist from Matt Campolettano with 1:57 remaining to make it 12-6. Pall notched his record-tying eighth tally at 12:04 of the final quarter to give the Seawolves a commanding 13-6 advantage. His eighth goal ran his total to 42 for the year which ranks him first in the nation in goals scored. Campolettano added two goals and an assist, while George LaFlare had a goal and three assists on the afternoon. Steve Armsworthy had 15 saves in goal, while Braves goalie T.J. Barnett had 11.
