Stony Brook's McBride Earns More Honors

March 18, 2008

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Honors continue to roll in for freshman Jordan McBride (New Westminster, British Columbia) after his standout performance at Delaware this past Saturday. Inside Lacrosse magazine named the Seawolf attackman its national Division I Player of the Week the publication announced. McBride was also named the America East Rookie of the Week on Monday.

McBride turned in a stellar performance at Delaware, leading Stony Brook to a 19-16 upset win over the No. 7 Blue Hens with a 10-goal, two-assist performance. With Stony Brook down three in the third quarter McBride scored four straight goals in a span of seven minutes that put the Seawolves back into the lead. He then added two more scores in the fourth that helped provide the margin of victory for SBU. His 10 goals set a new school record (old record was eight), set a new Rullo Stadium record at Delaware and was just one short of the NCAA record.

McBride kept pace today for Stony Brook, leading the team with six goals in the Seawolves' 12-8 victory over Lafayette, the team's third straight win. The nation's leader coming into this week in goal per game, McBride now has 23 goals for the season.
