McBride's Goal at Delaware Named a Top Play of the Year
June 16, 2008
Stony Brook, N.Y. - Freshman Jordan McBride's (New Westminster, British Columbia) 10th goal at Delaware on March 15 this season has been named one of the top plays of the year in men's Division I college lacrosse by Inside Lacrosse. The play earned honorable mention status on the list released by the publication. McBride's goal against the Blue Hens capped off a 10-2 Stony Brook run that brought the Seawolves from a four-goal, third quarter deficit to a four-goal lead in the fourth quarter. That proved to be enough of a lead for Stony Brook which went on to claim a 19-16 victory over then seventh-ranked Delaware, making the Blue Hens the highest ranked team that the Seawolves have defeated in men's lacrosse. McBride's goal also established a new school record for goals in a game for Stony Brook, falling just one short of the NCAA record for goals in a game. The mark also stood up over the rest of the season as the most goals scored in a game in any Division in 2008.
