Stony Brook got back on the winning track Wednesday afternoon as the Seawolves knocked off Northeastern 2-0 in Boston, Mass. The shutout marked the Seawolves' sixth of the season and improved their record to 7-1, as the Huskies drop to 4-6 on the year.

Freshman Shane Arikian scored his third goal of the season to get the Seawolves on the board early in the first half, when he headed Alton Allen's cross past NU goalie Allan Lewis in the 16th minute.

The game was scoreless for nearly the next 70 minutes until senior Juan Serna blasted a 30-yard shot over the hands of a outstretched Lewis.

The Huskies got off 13 shots, but USB freshman goalkeeper Dan Ferrin made eight saves on the day to thwart Northeastern's chances.

It was first time all season the Huskies have been shut out, and their first since their 1-0 loss to Towson in overtime of the first round of the America East Championship last year.

The Seawolves return to action on Friday when they travel to Philadelphia University. Kickoff is 4 p.m.
