Philadelphia, Pa. - Senior forward Alton Allen and junior midfielder Jamie Gaither each notched a goal and an assist as visiting Stony Brook held off Atlantic Soccer Conference foe Philadelphia University, 3-2, in men's soccer action Friday afternoon. With the victory, the Seawolves up their season record to 8-1 overall and 2-1 in the Atlantic Soccer Conference while the Rams fall to 5-7 overall and 1-2 in the ASC.

Hector Dillon put Stony Brook up 1-0 early in the second half when he scored at the 48:38 mark off assists from Allen and defender Johan Thomsson. After Allen tallied off a Gaither cross to make it 2-0 at the 60:26 mark, the Rams cut the lead to 2-1 with just under ten minutes to play when freshman Josip Babic scored an unassisted goal.

Stony Brook pushed the lead back to 3-1 when Jamie Gaither beat Philadelphia University goalkeeper Scott Nixon with just over seven minutes remaining. The Rams added a late goal to make the score 3-2.

Freshman goalie Dan Ferrin made two saves for the Seawolves to earn his eighth win of the year. Stony Brook puts its perfect 5-0 road mark this season on the line again on Tuesday, October 10, when it travels to take on intra-state rival Albany. Kickoff is 3:00 p.m.
