Three Second-Half Goals Lead Binghamton To Win Over Men's Soccer, 3-1

Vestal, N.Y. - The Binghamton University men's soccer team (5-9-1, 2-4 America East) scored three second-half goals in a nine-minute span to defeat Stony Brook, 3-1, on Wednesday afternoon. Trailing 1-0 midway through the second half, senior Keith Augeri received a pass from Michael Austin and beat Seawolves goalkeeper Dan Ferrin in front of the net, tying the score at 1-1 at the 61:27 mark. Less than a minute later, freshman Graham Munro converted a penalty kick for a 2-1 lead at 62:20. Munro added another penalty kick in the 71st minute for the final score. The Seawolves (2-12-1, 1-4) opened up a 1-0 lead midway through the first half. After a missed shot, sophomore Chris Scarpati took the rebound and served a pass to sophomore Chris Musinski, who fired the ball to the back of the net at 19:06. Stony Brook kept the Bearcats off the scoreboard for the first 61 minutes despite being outshot 20-9 for the game. Ferrin recorded seven saves for the Seawolves, while Binghamton's Ian Wendel stopped five shots. Stony Brook continues its road swing on Saturday, when the Seawolves take on Albany.
