Men's Soccer Falls To Binghamton, 1-0

Oct. 29, 2008

Vestal, N.Y. - Ryan Tomko's header off a Stony Brook player just four minutes before halftime proved to be the difference in Binghamton's 1-0 win over the Stony Brook men's soccer team on Wednesday night at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Stony Brook is 2-12-4, 0-4-3 in America East play while Binghamton is 10-5-3, 5-2-0.

In the 40th minute, Darren McAllister sent a corner kick into the box. Tomko's header went off a Stony Brook defender and into the goal to give the Bearcats' 1-0 lead.

Senior Dawid Ditrich (Gdansk, Poland) made six saves in goal for Stony Brook. Sophomore Greg Tinari (Holbrook, N.Y.) led the Seawolves with two shots.

Ditrich and Tomko were the America East Man of the Match for Stony Brook and Binghamton, respectively.

Stony Brook closes out the 2008 regular season at home vs. UMBC on Sunday afternoon. Kick-off is slated for 1 pm.
