Stony Brook, N.Y. - Head men's soccer coach Scott Dean was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at his alma mater, Green Mountain College, in Poultney, Vt., on June 1.

Dean, who lettered three years for the Eagles in both soccer and basketball, was one of four former athletes honored as part of Green Mountain's Alumni Weekend's festivities.

Dean scored 21 goals and had 21 assists during his soccer career, and his total of 63 points ranks among the top 10 in school history. He was named All-Mayflower Conference twice during his career and received NAIA District V Team honors as a senior in 1987.

On the basketball court, Dean scored over 300 points and collected over 350 rebounds.

Dean enters his sixth season this fall as head men's soccer coach at Stony Brook. In 2000, he was named National Soccer Coaches Association of America New York Regional Coach of the Year, Atlantic Soccer Conference Coach of the Year and Stony Brook Male Athlete of the Year after leading the Seawolves to the first Division I top 25 ranking in the school's history. He was named New England Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year after just his second year at the helm in 1998.
