Stony Brook University Installs New FieldTurf Playing Surface

Stony Brook University Athletics recently completed the installation of a new FieldTurf surface in Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium, replacing the original Field Turf which was installed when the facility opened in 2002. The new, 89,298 square foot surface was provided by Field Turf Tarkett and installed by the Land Tek Group Inc. [+]

Men's Soccer Adds Eight To 2009 Roster

Head Coach Cesar Markovic has announced that eight more student-athletes will join the men's soccer team in time for 2009. Danny Bonomini (Holbrook, N.Y.), Christian Galindo (Brentwood, N.Y.), Berian Gobeil (Montreal, Quebec), Christian Molinar (Bay Shore, N.Y.), Stefan Manz (Bronx, N.Y.), Kyle Schlesinger (Selden, N.Y.), Serigne Sylla (New York, N.Y.) and Peter Touros (Astoria, N.Y.) join Raphael Abreu (New York, N.Y.), Antonio Crespi (North Babylon, N.Y.) and Cristian Quevedo (Smithtown, N.Y.), who signed earlier. A Letter From The Desk Of Coach Markovic

We are in preparations for the 2009 Fall season. It is always an exciting time full of hopes and aspirations. Our team just completed the spring season with a tie against perennial national power University of Connecticut and a win against Division II national runner-up, Dowling College. In addition, we won our fourth consecutive Spring Collegiate Soccer Series, a tournament which our program has won every year since its inception four years ago. Although we had a small squad in numbers for the spring, we trained very hard and made some much needed improvements. [+]
