Men's Swimming Defeats Fairfield 144-96
Jan. 30, 2005 Fairfield, Conn. - Nathan French posted two individual wins and helped his 400 medley relay team to a victory as the Seawolves defeated Fairfield 144-96 Saturday afternoon in Connecticut. With the win, SB improves to 5-3 on the season. French touched the wall first in both the 200 freestyle and 200 backstroke in times of 2:02.34 and 2:13.88, repectively. He teamed up with Ted Freeborn, Jeffrey Chu and Vladimir Sreckovic to win the 400 medley relay in a time of 4:09.88. Freeborn and Chu teamed up again in the 400 freestyle along with Dan Piastuck and Kyle Thornton to take a win in 3:45.99. Freeborn posted an individual win in the 100 freestyle in a time of 54.73, followed in second by teammate Alex Kissel, who touched the wall first in the 50 freestyle in a time of 25.36. Chu took the top spot in the 200 butterfly in a time of 2:16.81. Thornton helped himself to a 2:16.67 first place finish in the 200 IM. The Seawolves are back in action on Saturday as they travel to Binghamton for a 1:00 p.m. dual meet with the Bearcats.
