Men's Swimming and Diving in Third Place Heading Into Day 3 at America East Championships

Boston, Mass. - The Stony Brook University men's swimming and diving is in third place after Day 2 at the America East Championships at Boston University.

The Seawolves recorded over 70 points on the day when eight swimmers placed in the 50-yard freestyle. Raphy Labour touched second in the event, missing first place by just seven tenths of a second, to pick up 17 points. Jon Sigurosson, Omer Ozcan, Chris Pai, Matt Descovich, Dan Piastuck, Alex Kissel and Yoni Eldor also received team points in the event.

Stony Brook posted first place points for the second time in this championships when the "A" relay won the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of Ozcan, Kissel, Sigurosson and Labour won the event in 1:24.28, edging UMBC for first place and 40 points.

Stony Brook has 207.50 points which is good for third place behind UMBC and Binghamton.

Day 3 at the Championships will consist of the finals in the 400-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard backstroke.
