STONY BROOK, NY - Gareth Williams won at #1 singles and #1 doubles, but Stony Brook lost the rest of its matches on the afternoon in falling to Hofstra, 6-1, Friday afternoon. Williams improved to 3-3 at #1 singles on the season, but the Seawolves fell to 4-6 overall. Hofstra improves to 6-1.

Williams defeated Mex Nemshev, 6-2, 6-4 and teamed with David Hewitt for a 9-8 win. Hewitt came close to a second victory for the Seawolves in singles play, losing to Serjo Texira, 5-7, 7-6, 7-6.

Stony Brook heads to St. John's on Tuesday for a 3:00 p.m. match.
