Wolfstock 2007 - Homecoming In Review
Oct. 26, 2007
Stony Brook, N.Y. - On a beautiful Saturday in October, Stony Brook played host to Wolfstock 2007, its annual homecoming celebration that proved to be one of the finest ever. Alumni turned out in record numbers to enjoy an outstanding weekend of homecoming activities that was highlighted by a thrilling double overtime 30-23 victory over the University of Maine in front of a record 7,300 homecoming fans. Scores of alums turned out for another great day on the Stony Brook campus. Once again, the Athletics Department Reunion Tent was a big hit as it hosted more than 150 former student-athletes and their families with a pre-game tailgate. Alumni from the 1970's all the way to the Class of 2007 were in attendance - some back on campus for the first time since they received their diploma! And then there was the highlight of Homecoming - the football game. In front of over 7,000 screaming fans at LaValle Stadium, the Seawolves rallied in the second half to overtake Maine, tying the game on a last second field goal before going on to win in overtime. At halftime, the Stony Brook University Red Hot marching band once again put an a spectacular performance with a tribute to Long Islander Billy Joel. In addition, one lucky fan won a semester's worth of free tuition and the 2007 homecoming king and queen were crowned. This exciting day concluded with a post-game barbecue where fans celebrated the homecoming win and enjoyed a fireworks finale.
