Theresa LoParrino scored 22 points on six three-pointers as Stony Brook defeated the New York Gazelles in exhibition basketball Tuesday night at the USB Sports Complex.

LoParrino hit four straight three-pointers in the second half, turning a one-point advantage into a 51-36 lead. Her fifth three-pointer of the night gave Stony Brook a 21-point advantage. Danielle DeGiorgio's lay-up allowed Stony Brook its largest lead of the night at 69-43 with 3:25 left.

LoParrino led four Stony Brook players in double figures. Kelli Cofield had 13 points and six rebounds, Jessica Burch collected 12 points, six assists and five steals and Jill George registered 11 points and five rebounds. Freshman Sherry Jordan had team highs in assists and rebounds with seven each.

The Seawolves host Norway in their final tune-up of the preseason next Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
