Los Angeles, CA - Stony Brook freshman Sherry Jordan scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds, but Loyola Marymount (2-0) came away with a 69-54 win over the Seawolves (1-1) Friday night at the LMU Thanksgiving Classic.

The Seawolves grabbed their last lead of the game with 13:00 remaining in the first half on a pair of free throws by Jordan. The Lions countered with a 13-0 run to take a 21-10 lead with 6:28 left in the first half. Jordan's jumper capped a 9-0 Seawolves run and with 2:37 left, the Seawolves trailed 21-19. In a game of runs, LMU countered again, this time with a 10-2 run that gave them a 31-21 lead at the break. Stony Brook committed 15 first half turnovers and shot just 28% in the first half.

The Lions built the lead to 45-29 on a three-point play by Taryn Reynolds, who had 20 points, seven assists and five steals in the win. Theresa LoParrino's first collegiate three-pointer ended a 14-3 Seawolves run and brought the score to 49-41 with 8:47 remaining. It was the last run at LMU for Stony Brook as the Lions raced out to a 21-point advantage with 18 of the next 21 points and they never looked back.

Stony Brook will face UC-Riverside in the consolation game tomorrow afternoon at 6:00 p.m. EST. The Highlanders were 76-51 losers to #24 Xavier.

Maggie Triggs was the only other player in double figures for the Seawolves, scoring 13 points - 11 in the second half.
