Danyelle Ingram Receives Conference Honors

March 10, 2003

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Freshman guard Danyelle Ingram received Rookie of the Week honors for the week of March 10, the conference announced.

Ingram was outstanding for the Seawolves last week, led off by a career day in an 80-68 win against Albany on March 5. Ingram drilled her first 13 field goals against the Great Danes, just one short of qualifying for the NCAA all-time best field goal percentage list. She scored 18 points by halftime and finished with a career-high 29. Her 13-of-15 shooting performance set a new school record. She also grabbed five rebounds and had four assists. In an 82-57 setback to Vermont on March 8, Ingram contributed eight points and five assists.

In the two games combined, Ingram hit 71 percent (17-of-24) from the field and averaged 19 points per contest. On the season, her 9.9 points per game ranks second on the team, while her 2.7 assists per game leads the Seawolves.

Stony Brook (9-18, 7-9 America East) enters this week's America East Conference Tournament as the No. 5 seed. The Seawolves face fourth-seeded New Hampshire on Thursday, March 13, at the Chase Family Arena on the campus of the University of Hartford. Tipoff is 8:30 p.m.
