Neuchâtel, Switzerland - Former Stony Brook women's basketball player Jessica Smith '07 has led her Canti Riva Basket Ceserio team to the brink of a Swiss Women's National League Championship in her first season of professional basketball. After falling to Université BC Neuchâtel in game one of the five-game series, 64-51, Smith has 31 points and 18 rebounds in the last two. She is averaging 12.3 ppg and 11.0 rpg in the finals.

Smith is averaging 24.8 points and 11.4 rebounds per game for Canti Riva Basket, a team located on the Swiss/Italian border. Last week, Smith was named to Eurobasket.com's All-Swiss LNA first-team as well as the All-Import team.
