Silver City, N.M. - Former Seawolves' assistant women's basketball coach Greg Adams has been named head women's basketball coach at Western New Mexico University, the school announced last week. Adams takes over a Mustangs' squad that went 8-19, 6-13 in conference play.

"After 13 years in coaching, I am ready to lead my own collegiate basketball program," Adams said. "I plan to make this program competitive on the court and well managed off the court."

"This is a bittersweet day for our program," head coach Michele Cherry said. "I'm extremely happy for Greg and his family. He sorely will be missed."

Adams begins his duties at the school on June 8. A search for Adams' replacement will begin immediately.
