Game Preview
In the final game of its five-game road trip, the Stony Brook women's basketball team travels across the Long Island Sound to face Sacred Heart tonight in non-conference action. Both teams are 0-5 having faced difficult competition to start the season. Jeff Bernstein `92 and the WUSB staff will broadcast all the action from Sacred Heart.

Live stats for Wednesday's game can be seen on Stony Brook's website, www.goseawolves.org or Sacred Heart's site, www.sacredheartpioneers.com. Free live streaming video of Wednesday's game is also available on Sacred Heart's site.

All-Time vs. Sacred Heart
Sacred Heart owns an 8-4 all-time advantage against Stony Brook. The series with the Pioneers dates back to 1990 when both schools were competing in Division III. Tonight's game is the third meeting in Division I. The Seawolves lost last year's meeting, 52-47. Dana Ferraro and Aly Young each recorded double-doubles and the Pioneers shot just 17 percent from the field in the first half.

Scouting Sacred Heart
Even after the 0-5 start to the season, Sacred Heart has three scorers in double figures led by Alisa Apo's 17.2 points per game. Freshman Callan Taylor is averaging 12.8 and Kaitlin Sowinski is averaging 12.2 points per game. Similar to the Seawolves, the Pioneers had a tough start to their season, facing Kansas and Marquette in the opening weekend. After losing its first two games by an average of 32 points, the last three losses have come by an average of three points. Along with Stony Brook, Sacred Heart has Manhattan, Princeton, Binghamton and Quinnipiac on its schedule.

Recapping St. John's
The Seawolves erased a 13-point second half deficit, cutting it to three but a 12-0 run from St. John's late in the second half helped it to a 61-49 win over the Stony Brook women's basketball team, at Carnesecca Arena on Friday afternoon. Stony Brook and St. John's combined to shoot just 2-for-12 in the early moments of the game but a three from freshman Tamiel Murray and a jumper from sophomore Kirsten Jeter gave the Seawolves a 5-0 lead. St. John's scored on its next three possessions and a long three-pointer from Kairsten Nunn tied the score at 8. St. John's started the second half missing all eight of its attempts and Stony Brook capitalized on the Red Storm's inefficiency. A 13-5 run to start the second half and layups from Misha Horsey and Nunn and a jump hook from junior Sarah Kazadi helped the Seawolves cut the St. John's lead to just five, 42-37 with under 12 minutes remaining. St. John's made just one basket and had seven points in the first nine minutes of the second half. Horsey and Nunn led the Seawolves with 11 points.
