Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook women's lacrosse team scored 10 consecutive goals in the second half to overcome a 6-1 deficit and top Siena 12-7 on Sunday at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. With the win, the Seawolves improved to 2-1 on the season, while the Saints fell to 2-3.

Trailing 6-1 five minutes into the second half, Jill Gridley scored twice sandwiched around a tally by Andrea Venditti to cut Siena's lead to 6-4 with 19:52 to play. Carlee Buck found the back of the net to pull the Seawolves within one at the 19:37 mark and, less than a minute later, Katie Savino's goal knotted the game at six.

The Seawolves took their first lead of the game 31 seconds later on a marker by Amy Taylor, while Danielle Werner's goal with 18:03 made it 8-6 in favor of the home team. Buck followed with back-to-back goals 33 seconds apart to push the lead to 10-6, while Venditti netted her second goal of the game to close the run and put SB up 11-6.

Michelle Eide found the back of the net for Siena with 1:32 to play to end the Seawolves' scoring run, but Werner scored with just 28 seconds to go to account for the 12-7 victory.

Buck led the Seawolves with three goals and two assists, while Gridley and Venditti each added a pair of goals and a helper. Freshman goalkeeper Jen Sandtorv picked up the win after turning away 10 shots.

Eide netted four goals for the Saints, three coming in the first half, while Stephanie Petruccelli added two goals in the loss. Mary-Elizabeth Dupelle made 11 saves in goal.

The Seawolves return to action on March 23 when they host Sacred Heart at 3:00 p.m.
