Cambridge, Mass. - Stony Brook was picked to finish third in the America East Women's Lacrosse preseason poll, the conference announced today. The Seawolves, who finished the 2007 season with a 13-4 record, received one first-place vote and 27 points overall.

Stony Brook returns the reigning America East Player of the Year, Kaitlin Leggio (Bay Shore, N.Y.) along with all-conference selections Diana Caroleo (North Babylon, N.Y.), Brooke Souder (Pottstown, Pa.) and Jenna Spenard (Cicero, N.Y.).

The quest for the 2008 championship begins this Saturday when the Seawolves host Colgate at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium at 1pm.
