Stony Brook University Installs New FieldTurf Playing Surface

Stony Brook University Athletics recently completed the installation of a new FieldTurf surface in Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium, replacing the original Field Turf which was installed when the facility opened in 2002. The new, 89,298 square foot surface was provided by Field Turf Tarkett and installed by the Land Tek Group Inc. [+]

Leggio, Team Ireland Finish Fifth In Women's Lacrosse World Cup

Former Stony Brook women's lacrosse standout Kaitlin Leggio '09 had 14 goals and 11 assists as she was part of Team Ireland's fifth-place finish at the 2009 Women's Lacrosse World Cup in Prague, Czech Republic. Leggio, who was one of five Long Islanders and nine Americans on the team, added 12 draw controls in seven games. [+]

Former Stony Brook standout Kaitlin Leggio `09 and Team Ireland will face the top seeded United States on Wednesday morning, after defeating the Czech Republic, 21-10, in a "play-in" match to determine the eighth and final seed in the Women's Lacrosse World Cup tournament's upper bracket. [+]
